New Year’s Eve fire proves fatal

A New Year’s Eve fire near Nasons killed an Orange County man, according to the Virignia State Police.

Sgt. F.L. Tyler, of the state police, said firefighters fought flames in a Lakeview Lane mobile home after being called to the scene at 8:27 p.m. Wednesday night.

“After the fire was extinguished, investigators found a man’s body in the trailer,“ Tyler said. “We are continuing to investigate to try and determine the cause and the origin of the fire.“

The man’s identity has not been released. His body currently at the state medical examiner’s office, Tyler said.
