The 16-year-old juvenile who pled guilty in an Albemarle County court Wednesday to participation in a string of shootings on and near Interstate 64 in March is now facing charges in Waynesboro as well, police said.

Brandon Dawson, from Crozet, was charged earlier this week in the March 27 shootings at the Waynesboro Dupont Community Credit Union on Lucy Lane and an occupied house on North Commerce Avenue that police say were a continuation of the sniper attacks and vandalism along the interstate and in western Albemarle County that sparked a 29-hour manhunt and terrified many area residents.

Dawson has been charged in Waynesboro with felony destruction of property, discharging a firearm from a vehicle and two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, police said. The case has been referred to Waynesboro Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Dawson is accused of accompanying Slade Woodson, 19, of Afton, during the shooting incidents. Woodson is also facing felony charges in both localities, and will appear in Waynesboro Circuit Court for a preliminary hearing Monday.
