WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama heads to Wall Street today to make a major speech on the U.S. economy.

He’s making the address on the first anniversary of the collapse of Lehman Brothers. Obama will discuss the aggressive steps the U.S. government has taken to bring the economy “back from the brink.“

Among other things, the president will also talk about plans to wind down the government’s role in the U.S. financial sector.

The president’s speech takes place at midday in New York’s Federal Hall. He’ll be back in Washington by late afternoon.
