Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., plans to visit five nations in Asia and meet with government officials and industry leaders.

Webb is scheduled to leave Sunday. The two-week tour includes stops in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

Webb says a member of Congress hasn’t visited Burma in more than 10 years.

The Virginia Democrat is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s East Asia and Pacific Affairs Subcommittee.
