Bell would hold line on raising state taxes

I really appreciate all the candidates for their participation in the Fluvanna County League of Women Voters forum.
An important issue to me during these tough economic times, since we are on a fixed income, is the issue of taxes. I am particularly concerned about state tax increases, and since we moved from a high-tax state, I wanted to hear the views of the two candidates for delegate.
When the issue came up, Rob Bell clearly stated he does not support tax increases. He expressed his concern about raising taxes during a recession.
On the other hand, Cynthia Neff was unclear. She even stated she was torn by the question of taxes and said anyone who says they will never raise taxes is lying or disingenuous.
I watched the candidates on their televised debate. Again, Rob said he was opposed to raising our taxes. This time, Ms. Neff said she would probably have voted for the last big tax increase.
Rob Bell has a long record of holding the line on taxes. Ms. Neff refused to tell us what she will do, but given all the spending she talks about, she’ll have to raise taxes.
On Election Day, I’m voting for Rob. He is more than a delegate to his constituents, he is a friend.
