Food drive exceeds expectations

I would like to thank all of the people who have so generously supported Neighbors-4-Neighbors, the food drive I began this past August.
A very special thank you to my subdivision neighbors who helped launch my program with their overwhelming response to my request for donations of nonperishable food to aid our community members in need. Their contributions sparked me to take my local neighborhood food drive nationally and led me to set a goal of a “ton of food” donated by the end of this year and an ultimate goal of 10,000 pounds of food donated to our depleted food banks as part of Neighbors-4-Neighbors.
I wanted all of you who supported my cause to know that on Make A Difference Day (Oct. 24), collections of food reached 5,312 pounds, surpassing by more than double my immediate goal of a “ton” and bringing my program more than halfway to its ultimate goal of 10,000 pounds of donated food.
I cannot express how grateful I am to each and every donor. Without your support, my program would not be the success that it is. Together, we can continue to make a difference!
