Goode is better for our economy

To me the choice is clear in this election. If you want a depression vote for Tom Perriello. If you want a short recession, vote for Virgil Goode.

No one is going to provide instant prosperity for the United States, but the Republican platform offers the best hope for long-term prosperity.

The Democratic platform (and Perriello is primarily financed by the Democratic National Committee and New Yorkers) and the Dem-ocratic voting record is following the Roman tradition aimed at providing bread and circuses (funded by debt and taxes on those who could provide more jobs) to the voters while allowing the productive base of the country to crumble.

The short- and long-term results of their tax, energy and housing policies are to make the United States uncompetitive in the world markets and prevent the capital formation necessary to provide new jobs.

The Affordable Housing Act of 1992; their votes and platform position for raising (rather than lowering) taxes for those employing people and creating more jobs; their opposition that killed the Bush energy plan in 2002, and their ridiculous limitations on offshore drilling (drill but not where the oil is), all have served to make the United States less competitive in the world markets.

It is a competitive world out there even if liberals don’t like to admit it. There is no indication of Tom Perriello would do anything to address the uncompetitive position the Democratic policies have and will put us in.

Alternative energy is merely the Democrats’ way of distracting us from the real issue. The only source of alternative energy they haven’t opposed in the name of environmentalism is solar power, the most expensive and non-competitive.

Moreover, the problem with alternative energy is that they all require duplicative sources based on fossil or nuclear power unless the American people want to live with brownouts and blackouts.

After all, everyone knows the wind does not always blow or the sun always shine.
