New rash of ailments crops up in Congress
Published: October 6, 2009
There has been a recent revelation of some health concerns that has been affecting those in Congress. Apparently, many of them are seeking medical attention for blisters and calluses on their feet and bruises on their posteriors.
Upon examination by their doctors it was determined that in addition to foot dragging, they have been walking the tightrope too long and sitting on fence posts too much. Further, ear, nose and throat specialists are treating more of them for foot-in-mouth disorders, as well as speaking with forked tongues. Also, some others are being diagnosed with narcoleptic lapses caused by the denials of obvious moral imperatives.
Fortunately for them, their health insurance carriers have waived the pre-existing condition exclusion, as it appears for some politicians this has been a malady for decades — perhaps it is even genetic — but recent spikes in these medical complaints have surfaced, and a direct causal link has been attributed to pending health care reform legislation and is exacerbated by the germs of lobbying fees and campaign contributions.
The appropriate treatment protocol has been to take a stand, do their jobs instead of worrying about keeping their jobs, tell the truth, accept what is moral and get off their dead rumps and pass meaningful health care reform with a strong public option for the American people. It’s better than having to take castor oil, and they’ll feel much better in the morning.

Interesting letter… and quite well written, Mr. Proffit. You are well aware that this is a great country and your prescription was spot-on.
I can only add: “RE-ELECT NO ONE!!!“
