Obama putting his campaign first

» 1 Comment | Post a Comment

I have seen many campaign ads on the local television stations that have been approved by Sen. Barack Obama. They have two things in common. One, he tells the viewers what Sen. John McCain has done to harm the country and, two, he does not tell the viewers what he intends to do to make our country better.

In recent days we were alerted to a very possible financial crisis. It could conceivably affect nearly everyone in this country. Sen. McCain then called for a temporary postponement of the then-upcoming debate with Sen. Obama, so that he could go to Washington and help with this situation. He is, after all, a member of the governmental body that needs to deal with it. Sen. Obama has responded that he will not call off the debate and would only go to Washington if they needed him.

Sen. Obama later retracted his original statement. This is not the type of decision-making that I want of the next president of the United States. I feel that we need a president who responds to emergencies that concern our country and its people, not one who seems to feel that a debate is more important than the welfare of our country.

Sen. McCain called for a temporary postponement of the debate with Sen. Obama. . . so that he could go to Washington and help with this situation?

The President has to be able to deal with more than one crisis at a time.  Obama was able to win the debate and contribute to the discussion on the economic bailout.  I do not think that McCain has anything constructive to add to the discussion on the bailout.  He and Bush are pretty much the same.
