If the cat has nine lives, how many do you think a dog has?
Twenty-six days after her home was destroyed by fire, a 1-year-old kitty was found in the rubble — alive.
First the cat — whose name is Smoka — survived the fire. Then she survived the demolition that occurred the very day after the fire.
A crew returned to the Franklin, Ohio, site nearly a month later to clear up the rubble remaining from the demolition. They found the cat’s head emerging from under 16 feet of debris.
Smoka was thin and had trouble walking, her owner said.
But, hey, who wouldn’t be a little skinny and shaky on their pins after being in a fire and then buried?
