Find me on Facebook

Maxi Sopo was a fugitive from a federal bank fraud investigation who apparently had successfully eluded authorities by slipping into Mexico and out of sight.
But like some character from a TV show (where else do people act this strangely?), he just couldn’t keep himself hidden. He had to brag. He had to live large. And, this being the Internet age, he couldn’t help doing it online.
Maxi Sopo (even the name sounds like it’s from fiction) told all his Facebook friends just how much fun he was having. And, as if that weren’t enough, he happened to chat up a former Justice Department official at a nightclub and then added him to his “friends” list.
When a Secret Service agent was combing Facebook he found both the suspect and the “friend” who had a direct line on how to find the man.
Guess nobody told Mr. Sopo that storybook fugitives are supposed to skulk in the shadows and fear to show their faces. Or, their Facebooks.
