More Harry Potter
The location is a city in Florida. But the address is a village in England.
And a magical village at that.
Universal Orlando Resort is creating the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a new theme park area opening next spring.
Designers have consulted with writer J.K. Rowling on the theme park, which is designed to be a “full immersion” experience. Once customers enter through a railway station arch named for Hogsmeade, they will see nothing from the outside world. Every shop, every amusement ride will be all Harry Potter.
Anybody remember when a Lewis and Clark amusement park was proposed for Northern Virginia not so long ago? We thought that was big — if something of an insult to the memory of the real-life explorers.
But a fantasy experience based on a fantasy character? Much better.
