A recent police chase in California illustrates a wave of the future.
When a carjacker sped away with a stolen Chevy Tahoe, police didn’t have to risk property or safety in a long chase. The vehicle was equipped with OnStar, so police called the service and had operators disable the gas pedal.
The thief abandoned the car and tried to flee on foot … but was nabbed when he fell into a swimming pool.
