‘Oh, Shenandoah …’

There could be no other choice …

Our own backyard national park, the Shenandoah, has been chosen as Virginia’s representative on a new set of commemorative quarters.

Well, actually, there might have been another choice. A group in eastern Virginia advocated for the Great Dismal Swamp.

Sorry, but the Shenandoah is a far better choice. It’s one of the most visited parks in the entire national system.

By the way, Cumberland Gap National Historical Park was selected as Kentuc-ky’s representative. We’d just like to point out that a small piece of that park lies in Virginia. It’s almost a two-fer for the Old Dominion.
