Youth was ‘friends with everyone’

On Monday afternoon, 11-year-old Aziz Damar Booth biked down the hill from his home on Sixth 1/2 Street to Tonsler Park to play basketball with his buddy Tilik Jones. The next day, Tilik, 13, was back at the basketball court, but this time he was alone.

Boy shot, killed

A Charlottesville man turned himself in to police Tuesday after an early-morning shooting in Fifeville left an 11-year-old boy dead.

Arrest made in death of 11 year-old

Aziz Damar Booth, 11, of Charlottesville, was found slain in the kitchen of a home in the 300 block of 6 ½ Street, with a fatal gunshot wound, according to Charlottesville police. Police say they found the boy after they answered a shots-fired call in the neighborhood and found 23-year-old Rueben Lewis III suffering from a gunshot wound.
