Scottsville native Russell Bodine, a rising senior at Fork Union Military Academy, verbally committed to play football for the University of North Carolina on Monday.

“He just showed his heart and determination out there today,” said Covenant coach Dave Breslin.

It wasn’t until the final minute of the first quarter that Andy Colberg was able to put Covenant on the board, but once he did, the Eagles poured it on to pick up the 12-3 victory.

“We just weren’t playing very well,” Dave Breslin said. “But I told the kids that they had the next 24 minutes to do something special.“
