A public memorial service for Jayne Warren McGowan will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Thomas Jefferson Memorial Church, 717 Rugby Road.

For James McGowan, the arrest of two men in connection with his daughter’s shooting death brings some closure, but doesn’t make preparing for the Thursday funeral any easier.

Charlottesville authorities this morning announced two arrests in connection with the killing of a 26-year-old woman in her St. Clair Avenue home last week.

Charlottesville Police Chief Timothy J. Longo said Monday that he and investigators are acting on the assumption that more than one person was involved in the shooting death of Jayne Warren McGowan.
