Steve Proscia, the father of Virginia third baseman Steven Proscia, did not skip a beat, laying out marinated chicken and whopping-sized steaks at the R.V. park he elected to stay at following his lengthy trek to the College World Series.

In Richmond, the smooth left-handed pitcher that led the nation in earned run average in 2008 was finally back in his purest form Tuesday night.

“He said, ‘Never let anyone know that you are hurt,’” Steven Proscia recounted. “He always told us to keep your foot on the throttle.“

With an announced crowd of 1,023 fans braving blistering conditions, Virginia drilled a pair of home runs and its pitching staff held Bucknell to just four hits in a 12-0 romp.
