Patriots rout Knights

Buckingham was able to roll with the punches for the first quarter, but in the second and third quarters Albemarle flexed their muscle to move on to tonight’s championship game against Spotswood after dispatching the Knights 84-59.

Charlottesville comes up short

While Charlottesville looked like a different team against Spotswood in the semifinals of The Daily Progress NBC29 Holiday Classic, the end result was the same — this time, a 48-47 loss.

Brown leads CHS past Waynesboro

Shalita Brown scored a game-high 30 points and pulled down 19 rebounds in leading Charlottesville to a 62-41 victory.

Patrick Henry-Roanoke was the only team making noise on the court in a 53-29 rout of the Little Giants.

Patriots stomp Giants

The Patriots (5-4) pressed the Little Giants (1-5) into submission, racking up 10 steals as a team in an 81-32 walkover in the first round of The Daily Progress NBC29 Holiday Classic.

Buckingham stops Culpeper

The Group A Knights held off the hot-shooting Blue Devils and pulled out a 74-66 victory in the first round of the Daily Pro-gress NBC29 Holiday Classic by creating of-fense out of a solid defensive effort.

Hornets go Green at buzzer

There was time left — 3.3 seconds, to be exact — and Green’s shot gave the Hornets the 52-51 victory as Albemarle’s Tamika Lewis missed on a 15-foot jumper as time expired.
