The man on fans’ minds
Vic Hall showed up at the ACC football kickoff on Sunday and was immediately smothered by inquiring minds that wanted to know if he would be Virginia’s starting quarterback come Sept. 5.

Today, at the annual ACC football kickoff, the media’s preseason predictions will be announced for the 34th straight year with Virginia widely expected to be pegged to finish fifth or sixth in the Coastal Division.

Hall glad to have ball back
With a very strong shot at being Virginia’s starting quarterback, Vic Hall wants to be as prepared as he possibly can for the task. He’s in a three-way battle with more experienced QBs, Jameel Sewell and Marc Verica, so he has to be at the top of his game.

Hurricanes out for vengeance
Miami will get its shot at revenge on Saturday — the Hurricanes (5-3, 2-2 ACC) invade Scott Stadium at noon with hopes of upending Virginia (5-3, 2-1) and jumbling the league’s Coastal Division standings even further.

Cavs claim control of Coastal
For the second straight week, the Cavaliers mounted an improbable comeback in the second half, defeating No. 21 Georgia Tech 24-17 to move into sole possession of first place in the ACC’s Coastal Division. It marked Virginia’s first road win over a ranked opponent since upending Clemson in 2001.
UVa secondary comes up big
While UVa defensive backs had a few hiccups in the first half, the unit came up huge when it really counted.
