Virginia landed its 10th verbal commitment in just 40 days late Sunday night.
Sean Cascarano, a three-star offensive tackle from Illinois, pondered over his experience in Charlottesville during the Cavaliers’ Blue Chip Recruit Day, which was held on Saturday, before promptly announcing his intentions. Thanks to the verbal, Virginia now sports 16 commitments for the Class of 2009, and it is expected to pursue at least seven more (perhaps as many as nine) before National Signing Day.
A 6-foot-6, 270-pound standout, Cascarano picked UVa over numerous offers, the most prominent of which were from Arizona, Cincinnati, Colorado, Indiana and Michigan State. At least one ACC school - Duke - had also offered.
Virginia also landed three commitments Saturday afternoon.
For complete details on Cascarano’s commitment, check Tuesday’s edition of The Daily Progress.
