Western Albemarle repeats as Group AA champs

In Harrisonburg, two first-place finishes from Tyler Stutzman lifted Western Albemarle to a repeat Group AA boys outdoor track championship.
The Warriors scored 48 points to edge Brookville by two points for the title.
Stutzman won the 800- and 3,200-meter runs, finishing two spots ahead of teammate Kyle Satterwhite in the latter. Satterwhite and Stutzman placed second and third, respectively, in the 1,600, behind Alex Ott of Turner Ashby.
Louisa County finished third in the boys meet behind Dante Davis’ first-place finish in the 110 hurdles and Marvin Mills’ third-place showing in the 400. The Lions’ 4x100 relay team also finished third.
Brandon Johnson of Fluvanna County was second in the boys shot put.
In the girls meet, Western’s Nicole Harding took second in the pole vault and Ashontae Jackson of Orange was third in the 200. Western was the top team finisher, coming in 12th. Blacksburg won the team title with 52 points.
