Enrollment changes will knock several area high schools down to lower divisions for the 2009 and 2010 football seasons.

Charlottesville and Monticello will move from Group AA, Division 4 to Division 3 in the fall, while Madison County and Nelson County will drop from Group A, Division 2 to Division 1. No other local schools will switch divisions.

Albemarle will remain in Group AAA, Division 5, along with the rest of the Commonwealth District, except for Colonial Forge and Riverbend, who will compete in Division 6.

Louisa County and Orange County will remain in Division 4, while Fluvanna County, Western Albemarle and William Monroe will stay in Division 3. Buckingham County remains in Division 2.

Goochland, the Jefferson District’s newest member, will compete in Division 3 after spending the past two years in Division 2.
