Patriots advance to district title game

Albemarle brought some normalcy to a wild Commonwealth District baseball tournament, scoring six runs in the fifth inning to defeat Massaponax 11-1 in the semifinals on Wednesday night.
Tyler Molinaro got the win and hit a three-run home run in the first inning for the third-seeded Patriots
(14-7), who host eighth-seeded Brooke Point in tonight’s championship game.
The Black Hawks defeated fifth-seeded Riverbend in the semifinals.
Rashad Talley had a solo home run and Vince Coles went 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Patriots roll past Panthers in
region quarterfinals
Bernie Mowbray had three goals and two assists as Albemarle defeated Potomac 17-2 in the Northwest Region quarterfinals on Wednesday night.
Billy Crist had two goals and three assists for the Patriots, who got goals from 12 players. Michael Bernardino and Joe Kostelac had two goals apiece. John Dillon added a pair of assists.
Albemarle (13-3) hosts Osbourn Park in the region semifinals on Friday at 6 p.m.
