The annual performance by the Charlottesville High School Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Luther King Jr. Performing Arts Center, will include music from “Harry Potter” and “Lord of the Rings” films.

Singers from Albemarle High School and the Charlottesville City Schools’ Staff Chorus also will perform. There also will be a display of visual art and a scene from CHS Theater’s upcoming “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”

The CHS Symphony Orchestra is created for one performance each year. The 52-member CHS String Ensemble and the top 25 musicians from the CHS Wind Ensemble team up to present the annual concert.

The program also will include Gliere’s “Russian Sailor’s Dance” and the choral masterworks “The Heavens are Telling” by Franz Joseph Haydn and “Lacrimosa” by W.A. Mozart.

Admission is free. For details, dial 245-2726.
