Note: Regarding letters about the election, writers should be aware that -- due to volume of letters received -- not all letters can be published. To facilitate fact-checking, letters making claims of fact should provide references or footnotes for those claims (the references should be from objective sources and will not count toward the 350-word limit). Letters citing how candidates have voted should reference the piece of legislation, either in the body of the letter or as a footnote. For state or national legislation, the letter should give the bill number and year of adoption; for localities, the letter should name the ordinance and date of adoption.
