    At the meeting of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors on May 2, Supervisors Ken Boyd, Duane Snow and Rodney Thomas voted against a motion requesting a public hearing on VDOT’s update of its original design and environmental assessment studies (which are more than 20 years old) for the U.S. 29 Western Bypass.

    The May 11 article about an issue before the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors — treating human waste in rural areas using 21st-century technology versus the existing third-century process — does not address the hidden agenda behind this debate.

    The Albemarle County Service Authority is to be commended for adjusting fees to more fairly charge those who profit from growth.

    On May 9, I joined with a group of 14 members of Virginia Organizing and attended the stockholders meeting of the Bank of America in Charlotte, N.C.

  • Public should be heard on bypass

    On May 2, Albemarle County Supervisors Ken Boyd, Duane Snow and Rodney Thomas voted against a motion requesting that the Virginia Department of Transportation hold a public hearing on the U.S. 29 Western Bypass.
