Virginia's unemployment rate is holding steady and remains below the national average.
The Virginia Employment Commission said today that the state's adjusted unemployment rate in November was 6.8 percent. That's the same rate as October and September, as well as November 2009.
Virginia's adjusted unemployment rate has been trending down since the rate of 7.3 percent in March.
More than 56,600 Virginians were receiving regular unemployment benefits in November, down 61,088 from October and from 71,038 in November 2009.
The national rate rose slightly in November to 9.8 percent.
