The University of Virginia’s Center for Politics announced Friday the publication of “Get in the Booth: A Citizens Guide to the 2010 Midterm Elections,” a collection of essays by experts from academia and the media that provide insight into the political, social and economic issues playing a role in the Nov. 2 midterm elections.
The publication, which can be accessed for free at www.getinthebooth2010.com, is edited by Center for Politics Director Larry J. Sabato and features articles by: Alan I. Abramowitz, an Emory University professor who takes a look at the history of midterm elections, likely outcomes and why people vote in midterms; independent analyst Rhodes Cook, who writes about the tea party movement; James Kitfield of the National Journal, who writes about how foreign policy is affecting the races; Bruce Alpert of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, who examines the political ramifications of the Gulf oil spill; and several others.
The publication is the latest in a series of annual election guides developed by the Center for Politics and published by Pearson/Longman publishers.
