AT&T lauds new disguised cell tower near Montpelier

»  Comments | Post a Comment

With a new tower in place, cellular service is now available at James Madison’s Montpelier, according to a news release.

The tower, disguised as a pine tree, should make AT&T service available throughout the Madison-Barbour Rural Historic District.

Montpelier and Community Wireless Structures worked with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Orange County, the Virginia Department of Historic Resources and others to design a tower to blend in with the historic landscape.

The artificial pine tree that disguises the tower is one of the first of its kind in Central Virginia.
