A worker died Wednesday after being pinned between a forklift and another piece of machinery at Tapscott Brothers Logging in Fluvanna County.
Stephen E. Moore, 56, was declared dead at the scene of the accident, which happened at the logging operation on Rolling Road South near Scottsville, according to Lt. Aaron C. Hurd of the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office.
Fire and rescue personnel from Fluvanna County and Scottsville responded, along with several deputies.
The medical examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy since Moore died in a work-related accident, officials said.
