Bob Fenwick makes good sense for Charlottesville City Council

»  Comments | Post a Comment

I am supporting Bob Fenwick for Charlottesville City Council because he stands for responsive, representative and transparent city government.

Bob understands that small businesses are critical to the economic vitality of Charlottesville. Small businesses make up more than 99 percent of employer corporations in the U.S., and contribute more than half of the non-farm gross domestic product. There are more than 6,000 small businesses in Charlottesville, which are a critical economic engine for the area.

Bob has suggested that the city focus on existing city businesses, and give them the same kind of attention that is offered to new businesses moving into the area. This makes good sense and will help Charlottesville add jobs during these tuff economic times.

I am confident that when Bob is elected to City Council, he will help to eliminate wasteful and unnecessary spending. His emphasis on maintaining and repairing existing city infrastructure will spur economic activity, and save money in the long run.

Bob has been active in local politics for many years. He shows a keen interest in local issues, and spends considerable time participating in council meetings, neighborhood association meetings and other city events. He listens carefully to the needs and opinions of city residents. I believe that he will do a great job representing the needs and ideas of Charlottesville residents.

Bob is innovative, practical and committed to a transparent governing process. I am proud to support him for City Council.
