City woman arrested in late-night stabbing

A Charlottesville woman was arrested early Saturday morning in connection with a stabbing that occurred in the 700 block of Prospect Avenue.

The event was “domestic related,” Lt. Ronnie Roberts said. Police responded to the scene at 1:15 a.m.

Yolanda Monroe, 39, is accused of stabbing a male in the arm with a knife. The victim, who is believed to be in his mid-30s, was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Monroe was charged with felonious assault.
