Town hall meeting to help Albemarle residents with quake damage

Albemarle County will host a town hall meeting Feb. 13 to provide information to county residents who may have suffered damage in the Aug. 23 earthquake.

The meeting will be held in the Lane Auditorium of the Albemarle County Office Building at 401 McIntire Road. It will last from 7 to 9 p.m.

Officials from The Virginia Department of Emergency Management, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Small Business Administration will be available to answer questions and provide information on how to rebuild safer structures and how to apply for a low-interest disaster loan.

Anyone requiring special accommodations to participate should call 571-422-1870 no later than 48 hours prior to the event.
