I live in Albemarle and work for a local company in Charlottesville. Through my job I have worked with Dave Norris on many different issues, most notably local housing issues including affordable housing. I am enthusiastically supporting his bid for another term on City Council because I have found him to be an excellent councilor and mayor.
Dave is a cut above even the best leaders. He has an amazing ability to find solutions that improve our lives without hurting others — not an easy task considering the widely varied needs and desires of such a diverse city.
Dave also routinely goes way above and beyond the call of duty. One easy example is the recent statewide clean energy bill (“Clean energy bill expanded across Va.,” The Daily Progress, Jan. 28), which is an effort started by Charlottesville City Council with Dave Norris leading the charge. It was such a good idea that other cities and counties asked to be included in the legislation, and it became a statewide initiative.
I encourage Charlottesville citizens to support Dave Norris in the Democratic primary on May 9.
