Creciendo Juntos-Growing Together will host a panel discussion today on area housing issues for the Latino community.
The discussion will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Albemarle County Office Building on Fifth Street Extended.
Three speakers will covers specific issues:
-- Aracely Panameno, director of Latino affairs for the Center of Responsible Lending in Washington, will talk about predatory lending;
-- Karen Reifenberger, director of fair housing for the Piedmont Housing Alliance, will cover the issue of fair housing; and
-- Brenda Castaneda, a staff attorney for the Legal Aid Justice Center, will discuss landlord/tenant abuses.
The Piedmont Housing Alliance, which houses Creciendo Juntos, is helping to host the program.
