Working detectors may net free pizza

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

Albemarle County Fire-Rescue and Domino’s Pizza are teaming up to make sure area residents have working smoke detectors.

Between 4 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters will accompany some Domino’s drivers on deliveries. Pizzas must be ordered from the Domino’s on U.S. 29. To order, call 973-1243.

Those who allow the firefighters to check their smoke detectors can eat for free if the detectors work. If not, you’ll have to pay for the pizza, but the firefighter will either replace the batteries or the detector at no charge.

Not all delivery drivers will be accompanied by a firefighter.

The promotion is part of Fire Prevention Week.
