» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

The Albemarle Police Department will soon introduce a crime reporting feature on its Web site.

Using crimereports.com, the department’s site will have daily uploads of crime and traffic data in the county, according to Lt. Todd Hopwood, department spokesman.

Users also will be able to customize their searches, using such information as location, date or type of incident.

The new tracking feature also will allow users to get automatic e-mail alerts for crimes that occur near their homes, offices or schools their children attend, Hopwood said.

Users will be able to access the data through the department’s Web site, www.albemarle.org/police, or through www.crimereports.com.
