VDOT urges caution as ice may slicken streets, highways

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Virginia Department of Transportation officials are warning that area roads could be icy this morning.

Most of the snow that fell across the region Tuesday melted on contact with the ground. But officials cautioned that as temperatures dipped through the night, any water or slush on roads could freeze, making for a tricky commute for some motorists.

The National Weather Service expects the snow to taper off this morning, with the Charlottesville area reaching a high of 45 degrees today.
