In an all-UVa affair, Jarmere Jenkins and Alex Domijan captured the titles on Sunday at the ITA Atlantic Regional at the Snyder Tennis Center.
Jenkins won the singles title in a walkover for the second consecutive season when teammate Michael Shabaz defaulted. Jenkins gets an automatic berth into the ITA National Indoor Championships in November in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. Shabaz is expected to get an at-large spot in the tournament on the strength of his No. 6 national ranking.
Jenkins and Domijan teamed up to win the doubles championship over fellow Cavaliers Sanam Singh and Steven Eelkman Rooda, 6-1, 7-5. Jenkins and Domijan advance to the doubles championships at Flushing Meadows.
Domijan and UVa teammates Singh and Drew Courtney had already qualified for the ITA championships with their performance at the ITA All-American Championships two weeks ago. Courtney and Shabaz also qualified at that tournament.
